Do you like folk music, food, and festivals? If so, you’re sure to have a fun-filled experience at the 32nd Annual Tucson Folk Festival May 6-7, 2017. This two-day event is a Tucson family tradition, and over 10,000 attendees from across the nation partake in the festivities each year. Check out what’s happening at this incredible free event.

Two Days of Non-Stop Music

Live music kicks off around noon at five stages situated amid historic downtown Tucson, including the Tucson Museum of Art, El Presidio Park, the Presidio Museum and La Cocina Restaurant. More than 60 local and national artists perform each day at the Tucson Folk Festival in addition to dozens of youthful talents sharing their musical abilities.

There will be Open Mic opportunities, songwriting competitions, interactive workshops and a tribal songwriting workshop in addition to an engaging children’s program. More than American Folk music, this diverse family festival showcases bluegrass, blues, jazz, zydeco, Celtic, country, Latin and Tejano acts. This year’s national headliners on Saturday are the Black Lillies, and the local headliners, Ryanhood, perform on Sunday on the Plaza Stage.

Fabulous Foods and Creative Crafts

What would a festival be without a variety of food vendors serving up delicious local and international fare? Dozens of booths and food trucks will be onsite serving up fabulous culinary delights, sweet treats, and cold beer. If you’re looking for a souvenir or special handcrafted item, you’re sure to find the perfect items amid the various artisan booths at the festival.
